The story goes like this... Back in the 90's Boy George went on 'Celebrity Stars in their Eyes' and performed as David Bowie. Due to his ...curvier disposition , his physical appearance needed a bit of work to resemble Bowie. Amazingly, the make up artists created a faux neckline for him, by painting his jaw and neck black.
Apparently BG loved this look so much, that , upon returning to his every day life, he shunned the gym in favour of painting from his neck down black. Celeb Genius.
But, why am I dragging this gem up from my useless celeb archive, you may ask? Well...for this reason.
The oh so offensive 'optical illusion dress'. And no, I don't mean the Stella version, I am talking about the high street's take on this trend. Women are being insulted nationwide by people championing this dress as a quick fix way to drop a few pounds. Let's get this straight, slapping some black jersey onto the sides of a clingy dress is fooling no one and frankly brings shame on the term 'optical illusion'. David Copperfield would be spinning in his gold encrusted assistant chopping in half box.
Hairdressers world wide are shaking in their boots, in fear that people will start dipping their hair in black paint instead of cutting it, plastic surgeons have seen a dip in takings, due to people painting out offending body parts instead of having them removed.... and so on.

Alexa Chung ~ Fashion Week.
Has anyone else been a little bored with Alexa's style over recent months? I was until I saw all these pics of her at London & NY fashion week. She is still so skinny but she looks better, maybe it's the hair, anyhow her outfits are getting me excited for the autumn/winter season ahead of us. Welcome back Alexa.
I especially heart this first outfit.

FOLK off!
Hands up who hearts vintage. Yep, us too. And for any self respecting Irish vintage heart-er, when asked where they love to shop, Shutterbug is one of the first answers that jumps outta their mouth.
So when we heard that Shutterbug founder Blanaid Hennessy was expanding her biz with a new website, www.folkster.com, we were more than a little excited.
Explaining the concept of the site, Blanaid says
“The store is a new adventure, a sister to Shutterbug, rather than a replacement. It’ll be a home for the contemporary brands we love, a Shutterbug Vintage edited collection and an all-new ‘Folkster’ line of clothes and accessories.”
Oh...and it's stocking Jeffrey Campbells.
In the words of Rachel Zoe..."I die."
So keep an eye out for Folkster.com, as we are sure it's going to swiftly rush to the top of our favourite online shopping spots over the next few weeks.
