Ima just have a lil rant here...

I knew I smelt a rat.

So Terry Richardson is facing some serious and down right disgusting allegations this week. Honestly , I'm not surprised one bit.
Danish Model Rie Rasmussen confronted Richardson at a show in Paris, accusing him of abusing the status and power he has in the fashion industry.
"They are too afraid to say no because their agency booked them on the job and are too young to stand up for themselves," said Rasmussen. "I told him, 'What you do is completely degrading to women. I hope you know you only fuck girls because you have a camera, lots of fashion contacts and get your pictures in Vogue.'"

Just the other day model Jamie Peck recounted her experience working with Richardson.

which has broken this story to the mainstream.

If true, these allegations just cement the idea that the fashion world , or world in general , see women as mere objects who can be passed around and used until the next better looking/ skinnier/ younger one comes along.
How many of us feel pressured when faced with a constant image of what women should be? Images that are taken primarily by men...and the ones that are shot by women fall into this pigeon hole ...not , as it seems to me, because they are "liberating" women, but for the fact that the photographer is supplying what the industry is demanding.
Ads like the "dove" campaign tell us.."good for you having a tum" in a downright patronizing manor.
While other ads demand physical perfection and sexualization of women.
Now I'm not about to start burning my bras , cause ... well.. I need those. But this is just a call to anyone who may be listening STOP focusing on women's bodies. Every article , shoot, ad campaingn has such emphasis on differentiating what "normal" figures are to "perfect figures" and so on.
It's ridiculous, just grow up people and stop this madness.
Seriously there are much much more important things in life.
And if the allegations about Richardson are true , then it's time that women such as Anna Wintour and Carine Roitfeld step up and say that it's not ok to treat women like this for the sake of some "high fashion" shots.
